IARR 2026

ARCC lab members Yiwen Gu and Rachel Florkiewicz plan to attend the 2026 International Association for Relationship Research conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

ARCC Lab at MPA 2025

ARCC lab members Sydney Varnak and Rachel Florkiewicz attended the 2025 Midwest Psychological Association conference in Chicago, Illinois. Rachel presented her poster with preliminary results from her undergraduate research titled, “Modern Day Relationships”.

MPA 2026

Both Sydney Varnak and Rachel Florkiewicz presented posters at the 2026 Midwest Psychological Association conference in Chicago, Illinois. Sydney will present her poster on “Fragile masculinity: Does threatening a man’s power cause partner aggression?”, and Rachel will present her poster on “Relational Identity Predicts Barriers to Seeking Help from Partner Aggression”. Sydney won a Psi Chi award for her poster!

Psych Undergraduate Conference

Sydney Varnak presented at the Purdue Undergraduate Research Conference, “Threat to men’s status causes aggressive inclinations against partners”. This poster won an award from Psi Chi

COIP Paper

Dr. Arriaga, Rachel Florkiewicz, and Yiwen Gu were just published in Current Opinions in Psychology! Their paper, “The psychological entrapment of partner abuse” reviews the literature and proposes a framework.

SPSP 2026
